Company’s President invests in developing a system as a “car wash” for shopping carts, which will be implemented in all stores
Examples on how to prevent consumers and associates from the coronavirus contagion in supermarkets come from all over the world. After visiting French supermarkets points of sale, the President of Veran Supermercados knew a shopping cart sanitizing system that inspired him to create a national model for his stores in the state of São Paulo.
According Sandro Benelli, the company developed the national version of the product internally, applying the pilot project in their store in the city of Mogi das Cruzes. The company’s goal is to have the shopping cart sanitizer available in all 14 stores of the chain, located on Alto Tietê region until the end of June.
Additionally, the supermarket chain has the intention to offer the “cart wash” system free, so other retailers can wash and sanitize their shopping carts with more agility on the daily basis.
