Super Troco stands out among startups that contribute to retail in Brazil
Points program solves change at supermarket checkouts even in the face of new technologies and payment options
Super Troco is one of the 50 startups that stand out the most among those who have created innovative solutions for the Brazilian supermarket retail. The list published by Super Varejo, a magazine of the Associação Paulista de Supermercados (São Paulo Supermarket Association in English), monitored 300 new technology companies from eight categories.
The points program that solves the friction caused by the lack of change at the supermarket checkout was highlighted in the “Operations” category even in the face of new technologies available for purchases’ payment.
According to Central Bank, in 2018 just over half the population used money to pay for their purchases, reaching 88% for purchases of up to R$ 10.00. In addition to generating operating expenses by supplying checkouts with coins, calculating and giving change impacts in lines and financial losses with the rounding that prioritize the customer.
From Super Troco, the consumer who goes to one of the participating chains, has the option to transform his/her change into points that can be accumulated to generate the exchange for products and services, in addition to enabling the transfer to other loyalty programs, donate to philanthropic institutions or use in the associated stores.
