Seara and Marfrig bring vegetable burger to supermarkets

Brands invest in new product lines and plan reaching Brazilian stores in early 2020 

Seara is one of the brands that already offers Brazilian consumers a line of products based on vegetable protein. After launching the 100% vegetable burger in August 2019, the new line now features pea-based burgers in the meat and chicken flavors. In addition, the brand also offers breaded that simulate chicken, kebab and oriental meat. 

According to the brand forecast, these products were made available in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro supermarkets in the second half of December, with nationwide expansion from 2020. Marfrig has also entered this dispute and plans to launch a version of the vegetable burger in the Brazilian market.

Since September, the company has been supplying this product to the Burger King fast food chain, and now the focus is to put it on sale in the country’s supermarkets. The company’s forecast is that the Revolution Burger line will reach supermarket points of sale in the first two months of this year. 

This launching is part of the strategy to broaden the portfolio of high value-added products and offer new options to consumers. Also new is the brand’s partnership with Outback Steakhouse, a restaurant chain that will have an exclusive version of Revolution Burger.
