Survey carried out by SiiLa Brasil shows that logistics condominium leasing nearly doubled, considering the period between 2015 and 2020
One of the cornerstones of supermarkets during the pandemic, the e-commerce, are contributing with the growth of warehouse leasing market in the country, mainly due to the fast adaptation to the digital environment. According to survey carried out by SiiLa Brasil platform, focused on the Brazilian business real estate market, the increase on the demand for warehouses this year in Rio de Janeiro, was higher than it was in 2019.
When considering the total leased area only in the second quarter of 2020, the survey registered 74.7% against 68% in the same period of last year. In São Paulo, in spite of the occupation rate registering the same percentage of last year with 82% in the second quarter, it does not mean reduction as another 122,800 m² (over 1 million ft²) of new areas were available. Considering the leasing scenario of logistics condominiums in São Paulo between 2015 and 2020, the number of available areas nearly doubled, from 254.3 thousand m² to 430 thousand m² (from 2.7 million to 4.6 million ft²).
