Equipment is under analysis in points of sale in Switzerland and could be implemented in other sectors of the supplying chain
Nestlé started testing in stores in Switzerland a sales format in which the consumer is able to buy products of the brand without packaging, using recipients the consumer take to the supermarkets from home. The company is carrying out tests with machines selling soluble coffee and pet food, aiming at contributing to reduce single use packages. This way, the company reinforces its commitments in turning their packages in 100% recyclable or reusable until 2025.
Moreover, in the chosen stores in Rorschach, Orbe and La Tour-de-Peilz, in Switzerland, consumers are able to access digitally packaging information for each product as ingredients, nutrition facts and expiration date.
The brand expects to make available this equipment in the entire supplying chain to run new tests in the coming months, since the equipment’s technology allows guaranteeing traceability in the whole process. Check out the video displaying the equipment working in a store in Switzerland.
