Google’s Vice-President indicates store integration as the future of supermarkets and highlights the influence of the searches in the buying decision
Supermarkets’ next step towards digital evolution is the complete integration between virtual and physical stores according to Fábio Coelho, Google Vice-President, during the APAS Show 2019 management congress. The executive presented data from a survey carried out by Nielsen on the number of people who buy products from online supermarkets.
Currently, 15% of Brazilian consumers buy in virtual stores and, according to Google’s VP, searches in the online environment influences 60% of the sales in physical stores. “Consumer habits change and everybody needs to adapt to market and user’s evolution”, said the Google executive during the APAS Show 2019.
