São Paulo State Supermarket Confidence Survey shows that 78% of supermarket owners are optimistic for 2020
Over the past four years, this is the Christmas with the highest sales expectation among supermarket owners in São Paulo. The São Paulo State Supermarket Confidence Survey (PCS/APAS) shows that 78% of entrepreneurs believe 2020 will be better than 2019. Between October and November this year, the overall business confidence index went from 35% to 39%.
According to the pessimists, the numbers show decrease, from 20% in October to 14% in November 2019. Before reaching the 78% mark of optimism, this index has been growing since June, mainly with the release of FGTS (Time of Service Guarantee Fund) by the federal government.
According to APAS economist Thiago Berka, supermarket owners believe that by 2020 the sector will grow by more than the 1% expected for 2019. On the other hand, the survey also shows that 56% of supermarket owners believe interest rates will continue to fall.
