Supermarket chain expands formats with stores in containers and spots for collecting the groceries in São Paulo
In 2020, APAS Show’s main theme is stimulating supermarket managers to put into practice all ways of hacking the supermarket. An interesting example of such practice comes from the Enxuto chain, from São Paulo. The company has developed two business formats that serve to different customer profiles.
The “Enxuto Aqui” (Enxuto Here) model was developed in a shipping container and initially, placed in a condominium in São Paulo. The other format is click & collect and is called “Enxuto Drive”, which operates in the cities of Campinas and Rio Claro.
With these two new formats, the supermarket chain expanded sales potential, turning the stores into distribution centers, considering them as branches of the Enxuto supermarkets. Today, the company starts to operate as supermarket as well as neighborhood store and distributor.
The goal is to open another two Enxuto Aqui unities in 2019 and designing five new unities for 2020, being one of them in a container that will work only for collecting products. Thus, in addition to expanding the operation with new points of sale, the company creates a relationship with the customers by serving them in different purchasing moments.
