Survey carried out by FecomercioSP shows sales growth in the whole State, and supermarkets in the Capital had 4.7% increase
Sales in supermarkets of São Paulo grew 5.4% in June, when compared to the same period in 2018. The data is from the Cyclical Survey of the Retail Commerce in the State of São Paulo (PCCV) and shows an increase of 4.9% in sales in the State’s entire retail commerce in the period, totaling R$ 58.1 billion.
The study also indicates that between January and June 2019, sales increased 5.4% in comparison to the first semester of 2018. In values, the difference represents R$ 18 billion more than in the first six months of 2018.
Sales in the State Capital
Only in the city of São Paulo, retail sales increased 5.5% in last June, with R$ 938.4 million more than June 2018. Regarding the sales in supermarkets located in the State Capital, there was a 4.7% increase, when considering the same period.
The survey is based on information about revenues provided by retail companies from the State, to the State of São Paulo Treasury Office (Sefaz-SP) and to the Federation of Goods Trade, Services and Tourism of the State of São Paulo (FecomercioSP). The study included all of the cities in the State of São Paulo and all retail sectors.
