With an area where the customers can pick their own produce in the store, Super Saudável is completing 8 months in São Paulo
Since 2018, customers from São Paulo have available a supermarket with a 100% healthy assortment. On Super Saudável’s shelves, located on the western side of São Paulo, the customer only finds products that were previously approved by nutritionists. The store also have a hydroponic garden.
The point of sale have an outdoor area where the customer can pick lettuce, strawberry, arugula, among other fruits and vegetables available in the garden. The action also works to reinforce the store’s “natural” concept.
The product mix of about 4,300 items fill the store’s shelves, with certified organic products, vegans, gluten free and lactose free products, along with traditional items by large brands. However, these items must comply with the “clean label” concept, thus it must not have preservatives, food colorings, acidulants and flavorings in their composition.

In order to ensure the 100% healthy purpose, the first contact with suppliers is carried out by Super Saudável’s nutritionists, which are responsible for approving the whole assortment. Altogether, there are about 300 suppliers making available items such as brown, demerara or coconut sugar, as well as salt and flour with the same characteristics.
The store just sells sodas without preservatives and with the natural sugar from fruit used in the product manufacture only. In addition, the poultry sold by Super Saudável does not receives antibiotics, growth hormones or accelerators, as well as the beef, which is organic or from pastures.
Super Saudável has opened its first store eight months ago, and counts on an average ticket of R$ 75.00, from clients coming from up to 4 miles away. According to André Nassar, founder, a second store should be opened in 2019. He expects that until the end of 2020, the company will have five to ten operating stores.
