Events at the regional units of the São Paulo Supermarket Association gather together industry representatives and exhibitors in affiliates in the State
The 35th edition of APAS Show will be from May 6th to May 9th, but the preparations for the event are already happening! This coming March 22nd, it is the city of Sorocaba’s turn to receive the APAS Show 2019 Kickoff Event, which will take place at the Espaço de Eventos Monteiro Lobato, in Bairro Jardim Itanguá for the official kickoff.
The gathering will bring together industry representatives and exhibitors, which this year will have even more space during the event, with the addition of one more pavilion as compared to the previous edition, which had a total of four. With five pavilions, APAS Show 2019 wants to offer even more visibility to international exhibitors, meeting rooms and exclusive assistance to foreign public. The kickoff events take place between the months of March and April in the cities where the São Paulo Supermarket Association (APAS) has affiliates.
Regional Unit presents good performance
The Sorocaba Regional Unit Kickoff event will be the fifth this year. The Regional Unit registered significant figures last year, accounting for 4.5% of the sector’s total revenue in the State of São Paulo, providing a sum of approximately BRL 4.7 billion. Besides this the Sorocaba Regional Unit is responsible for the generation of 24 thousand jobs in supermarkets of the region.
It is worth recalling that the event set for the 22nd of this month integrates the Collection Action, APAS’ social initiative that dedicates part of the sponsorship quota of the regional kickoffs to local charitable entities. The action is also extended to APAS Show 2019 with participation of exhibitors who will donate food and hygiene products that are left in excess at the stands.
In 2019, the world’s largest supermarket event had 71,931 registered visitors and 4,073 congress participants and 738 exhibitors, with 200 of them coming from 19 different countries. Besides this, 1,423 meetings were held between 185 companies, with 50 international buyers, making a total of USD 100 million in business generation.
